ITEP (B.A. B.Ed)

The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP)

The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), introduced by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), is a comprehensive four-year undergraduate course designed to develop well-rounded and skilled educators. Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the program seamlessly integrates general education with professional teacher training, offering a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to teaching.

ITEP combines theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and internships to equip students with essential pedagogical skills and classroom expertise. By streamlining the curriculum, the program aims to elevate the quality of teacher education and prepare graduates to effectively teach at both the elementary and secondary levels.

Majuli College, a prestigious government institution affiliated with Dibrugarh University, operates in full compliance with the Department of Higher Education, Government of Assam, and the University Grants Commission (UGC). Governed by a body constituted by the Government of Assam, the college ensures strong administrative oversight and strategic planning.

Demonstrating its commitment to advancing teacher education, Majuli College has formally applied to the Eastern Regional Committee (ERC-NCTE) to introduce the four-year Integrated B.A. B.Ed. program under ITEP for the academic year 2025-26. This initiative reflects the institution’s dedication to providing high-quality, personalized teacher training and preparing future educators to meet the evolving demands of modern classrooms.

Intake Capacity

Majuli College has submitted an application to offer one unit of the four-year Integrated B.A. B.Ed. program, with an intake of 50 students. This program aims to provide a solid foundation in both general education and professional teacher training, fostering a well-rounded and immersive learning experience. The limited intake underscores the college’s commitment to maintaining academic excellence through individualized attention and a high-quality educational environment—preparing future educators to meet the evolving demands of today’s modern classrooms.

The new enrolment process for the Integrated B.A. B.Ed. program will begin in the upcoming academic session, following formal recognition by the NCTE.
